Bellafill
Bellafill can provide instant smoothness and long-lasting improvement
Smile lines (nasolabial folds) and acne scars are more than just little wrinkles around the lips or minor textural inconsistencies. They can create a significant impact on your appearance and cause you to look much older than you feel.
Their development isn’t something you can prevent. Your mouth and lips are a massive part of everyday communication — speaking and expressing emotions throughout the day eventually has quite a toll on your skin health. And despite how many acne prevention regimens you go through, sometimes the acne will still develop and scar.
Eventually, all that movement will create folds that extend from your nostrils to the bottom of your mouth, and the acne will begin to have noticeable effects on your complexion. While there is only very little that can be done to prevent these conditions from developing, you can do something once they have already developed.
Bellafill can provide instant smoothness and long-lasting improvement to the appearance of your nasolabial folds and acne scars. If you would like to learn more about Bellafill, give our office a call at (480) 493-5833.
What Is Bellafill?
Bellafill is an FDA-approved injectable filler treatment explicitly designed to decrease the severity of nasolabial folds and acne scarring. Unlike other fillers, which rely primarily on hyaluronic acid fillers, Bellafill uses two other main components: Smooth collagen gel (80% of the solution) forms the base of Bellafill, creating soft, supple volume beneath the nasolabial folds' surface.Polymethylmethacrylate microspheres (20% of the solution) are suspended within the collagen gel. These form a sturdy scaffold where your natural collagen grows.
How Does Bellafill Work?
When the collagen gel and polymethylmethacrylate are injected into the skin, you will be able to see an immediate improvement in the severity of nasolabial folds. As these substances begin to fade, your body will start to replace the injected collagen with collagen that your body has naturally produced.
As the transition between injected collagen and naturally produced collagen occurs, the polymethylmethacrylate will stay in place and continue to serve as a scaffold to trigger and support your body’s collagen production. This process creates more taut and smooth skin.
Am I a Candidate for Bellafill?
Bellafill is safe for all skin types and colors and is best suited for men and women older than 21 who are experiencing the development of nasolabial folds or acne scarring and would like a longer-term solution than other treatments can provide. You will be required to do an allergy test before the treatment to ensure you aren’t sensitive to the product.
Remember, the best candidates come into the procedure room with realistic expectations about what this (or any) cosmetic procedure can provide. Doing thorough research and asking plenty of questions will help ensure that you are prepared for your Bellafill procedure results.
Is Bellafill Safe?
Yes. Bella fill is approved by the FDA and has been proven safe in multiple rigorous clinical studies, according to Suneva Medical, the company that owns Bellafill. Your medical professional will read your medical history and examine your unique condition and anatomy to ensure you are a good fit for this procedure.
How Should I Prepare for Bellafill?
You may be asked by one of our medical professionals to quit taking any prescription medications or supplements that can affect blood clotting. Here is a list of some, but not all, of the substances you may need to refrain from temporarily: Aspirin, Advil, Aleve, Bufferin, Nuprin, Ibuprofen, Fish oil, Ginseng, Ginkgo, & Garlic pills.
You also want to avoid consuming alcohol and overly salty foods since it can have adverse effects on your swelling and recovery.
What Should I Expect from Bellafill Procedure?
Bellafill treatment is performed as an in-office outpatient procedure. When you first arrive in the procedure room, your medical professional will first cleanse your skin in preparation for the treatment. Then, a series of Bellafill injections are made at strategic locations on your face.
Each injection has a small amount of lidocaine to relieve some of the pain or discomfort associated with the procedure. Sometimes, a topical numbing product will be applied per your request. The entire nasolabial fold and acne scar treatment can take anywhere between 15 and 60 minutes, depending on your unique treatment plan.
