Ryan Krch, a Phoenix, AZ doctor, is excited to provide platelet-rich plasma therapy (PRP) at Krch AESTHETIC MEDICINE to help refresh your appearance. PRP therapy is one of the most popular and innovative cosmetic procedures in the aesthetic industry because of its natural method and exciting results. The procedure utilizes your own plasma to stimulate your skin, minimizing the appearance of fine lines and reducing the look of medium to deep wrinkles. It can also help improve volume in your cheeks, tear troughs, and lips. For more information about PRP therapy, contact Krch AESTHETIC MEDICINE in Phoenix, AZ to schedule a consult. Dr. Ryan is excited to discuss all the benefits of PRP and how it can help to improve your skin.
Ideal candidates for PRP Therapy
Dr. Ryan's ideal PRP patient is someone looking to improve volume with a natural effect that evolves over time, as opposed to desiring a sudden change. Patients who have dynamic wrinkles, uneven skin tone, droopy skin, and volume loss are typically great candidates for PRP therapy. Since it naturally promotes collagen production, it is also a fantastic treatment option for rejuvenating dull-colored skin. Speak with Dr. Ryan if you have any blood disorders, skin conditions, or anemia to determine whether it is safe for you to receive PRP therapy.
PRP Therapy Procedure Technique
Once you are seated comfortably in one of our private treatment rooms, a bit of blood will be taken from your arm and placed in a centrifuge machine. Usually, we take about four tablespoons of blood. After about 15 minutes, the different components of the blood will be separated and ready for injection. Dr. Ryan will place the condensed plasma into a sterile syringe and inject it into the treatment areas. The PRP process usually only takes around five minutes but can vary from patient to patient.
What to expect from your PRP Therapy Treatmemt
Platelet-rich plasma promotes the production of elastin and collagen naturally to create younger- and tighter-looking skin. Because it utilizes your own blood, the risk of allergic or adverse reactions is virtually eliminated. You should expect your face to be a tad red after the procedure, as a few red blood cells are included in the plasma injection. A cold pack can be applied to the treatment site to reduce discomfort or minor swelling. We recommend you receive treatments every 4 – 6 weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions for PRP Therapy
How much does PRP Therapy cost?
Platelet-rich plasma promotes the production of elastin and collagen naturally to create younger- and tighter-looking skin. How long can I expect my PRP therapy results to last?
The duration of the results of PRP therapy can be a bit different with each patient and are also dependent on the treatment area. Most patients report PRP therapy results lasting for 4 – 8 weeks. This procedure is more affordable than surgery and does not have any downtime for the patient, making it an attractive option.
Are there any risks or complications with PRP therapy?
Because your own blood is used in PRP therapy, the risks of the procedure are extremely minor and include only prolonged bruising and swelling. However, because the procedure involves injections, it’s very important to have it done by a skilled practitioner like Dr. Ryan, who is highly experienced with the process.
Can PRP be used as a filler?
PRP does not work in the same way as a dermal filler. With PRP therapy, your results will evolve and increase over time, as the PRP stimulates your skin and promotes its production of elastin and collagen. Dr. Ryan uses PRP therapy as a safer alternative to fillers and for those who want subtle, natural-looking changes over time.
Is there any pain involved in PRP therapy?
Most patients only feel slight pressure or a tiny pinch during the injection. PRP therapy has the prerequisite first step of the plasma extraction, but otherwise feels much like any other dermal filler injection. You can ask Dr. Ryan about using a local anesthetic if you are worried about experiencing any discomfort during the procedure.
