BOTOX®
Express your true self with Botox®
At Krch AESTHETIC MEDICINE in Phoenix, AZ, we are dedicated to helping local individuals feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. That's why we're proud to offer Botox, a popular injectable treatment that helps prevent and reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and lines. With outstanding results that both men and women love, Botox is an effective way to achieve graceful aging.
We're proud to offer BOTOX to local individuals to assist in graceful aging and to prevent facial wrinkles and lines from forming on the top portion of the face. This injectable procedure provides outstanding results and is common among men and women. BOTOX can significantly reduce dynamic lines caused by expressive movement of the muscles on the forehead and around the eyes. The lines disappear as the face relaxes, but dynamic creases may remain on your skin. Botox is especially effective in reducing wrinkles that are caused by expressive movement of the facial muscles. These lines can appear on your forehead and around the eyes, but Botox can help smooth them out. It works by temporarily blocking the movements of your facial muscles with a clean and purified strain of botulinum toxin (type A). Our skilled practitioner, Dr. Ryan Krch, N.M.D., commonly places Botox injections between the eyebrows, on the Crow's feet, and across the forehead.
Ideal candidates for BOTOX®
Botox is an excellent option for individuals who want to soften the appearance of dynamic lines and wrinkles on their faces without surgery. It's also an excellent preventive treatment if you're concerned about developing wrinkles and lines in the future. Botox is especially effective for forehead lines, parallel lines between the brows, and lines around the eyes.
If you have deeper lines or sagging skin, other treatments like PDO thread lifts or fillers may be more suitable for you. We can help you determine which treatment is right for you during a consultation.
BOTOX® Procedure Technique
At Krch AESTHETIC MEDICINE, Botox treatments are done as outpatient procedures for your convenience. During your first visit, we'll perform a consultation with Dr. Ryan and perform the injection at the same appointment. To determine the best placement for your injections, we'll ask you to make various facial expressions using the upper face.
We first cleanse your skin, and then Botox will be administered with a fine needle. You can request a numbing cream to make the procedure more comfortable, but it's generally unnecessary. Botox injections typically take about 10 – 15 minutes, and then you can resume your regular routine almost right away.
What to expect from your BOTOX® Treatment
After your Botox treatment, you can return to your normal routine, but avoiding strenuous activity for at least one day is best. You should also sleep with your head elevated for the first night and avoid touching your face, which could spread the treatment to other areas. You may experience some redness, bruising, or swelling at the injection site, but these effects are temporary and typically last two to three days.
It can take about five to seven days to see Botox's full results, which usually last three to four months. You may come in for touch-up injections every 12-14 weeks as it builds in your system, then you will enjoy longer-lasting results between appointments.

Is Botox Right for Me?
Ultimately, the decision to get Botox is a personal one that depends on your goals and medical history. While Botox is generally safe, it may not be suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions or allergies. During your detailed consultation, we can discuss your medical history and help you determine whether Botox is right for you.
It's important to have realistic expectations about what Botox can do for you, as it's not a permanent solution. However, with regular treatments, you can easily maintain your desired results.
What Results Can I Expect?
Individual results may vary, but most people can expect a noticeable reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. The effects of Botox typically start to become visible within a few days of treatment and can last for several months. Repeating treatments every few months can help you maintain your desired results. Botox builds over time in your system with each treatment, lasting longer between appointments and requiring you to come in less.
Are Botox and Fillers the Same?
Botox and fillers are often mentioned together, but they are not the same thing. While both are popular cosmetic treatments, they work in different ways to achieve different results. Botox works by blocking the nerve signals that cause muscle contractions, which temporarily relaxes the muscles. This softens the wrinkles and lines in the treated area, giving the skin a smoother and more youthful appearance. Conversely, fillers work by adding volume to the treated area, filling in wrinkles and lines to create a more youthful and rejuvenated look. They typically contain substances such as hyaluronic acid or collagen that help to plump up the skin and restore volume.
While Botox is best suited for treating wrinkles caused by facial expressions, such as frown lines or crow's feet, fillers can address a broader range of concerns. They can help fill in deeper wrinkles, add volume to hollowed areas of the face, and enhance facial features like the lips or cheeks. During a consultation, we can help you determine which treatment or combination of treatments is right for you.
Frequently Asked Questions for BOTOX®
How much does BOTOX® cost?
The cost for BOTOX® will depend on how much product is used. This will vary based on your needs and goals. During your consultation, Dr. Ryan will develop your personal treatment plan before he can estimate your costs. BOTOX® can produce great results when performed by a skilled doctor like Dr. Ryan, but it can be unsafe if done by someone without training, which is why it's better to avoid places offering cheap or knock-off injections. To save money, ask about the Brilliant Distinctions Rewards Program so you can get points for BOTOX® and other Allergan products, like Juvéderm.
How long will my results last?
Your BOTOX® results can last up to four months. Most patients make an appointment every season to maintain their results, but you may come back sooner. If you are getting BOTOX® while you are younger as a preventive treatment, you may be able to schedule treatments further apart. After listening to your goals and developing your treatment plan, Dr. Ryan will be able to estimate when you should schedule your next appointment.
What's the difference between wrinkle relaxers and fillers?
Wrinkle relaxers (like BOTOX®) and wrinkle fillers (like Juvéderm® and Restylane®) are both treatments that reduce wrinkles and smooth fine lines. BOTOX® relaxes overused facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, like frown lines (between the eyebrows), Crow's feet (in the outer corners of the eyes), forehead wrinkles, and smile lines. Injectable fillers add volume under the skin to correct hollow areas and decrease static wrinkles. After hearing your goals, Dr. Ryan may recommend BOTOX®, fillers, or a combination of both for a liquid "facelift."
What's the difference between BOTOX®, Dysport, and Xeomin?
BOTOX®, Dysport, and Xeomin are brands of wrinkle relaxers that use botulinum toxin (type A). Each of these relax facial muscles to reduce dynamic wrinkles, but each formula is designed to suit specific areas and needs. There are subtle differences between them, including the dosing amounts, treatment spread, and length of results. Dr. Ryan will choose the best injection to fit your goals.
Is BOTOX® safe?
When used properly, BOTOX® rarely causes any complications. With that said, it is important to select someone who has training in handling this medication, like Dr. Ryan. Overusing BOTOX® can create an undesirable outcome. A skilled practitioner will use just enough of the medication to effectively freeze the muscles that cause wrinkles while leaving nearby muscles unaffected. One of the most popular cosmetic treatments on the market today, it's safe and approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In addition to cosmetic uses, BOTOX® is also used to treat medical problems like facial spasms, excessive sweating, uncontrollable blinking, and migraines.
